Effective Minute Taking

Course Overview:

Minutes are the result of writing of an accurate record of what took place, what was agreed and the resulting actions to be taken noted formally after a meeting.

If minute taking is a day to day task or you are only an occasional stand in, you will learn many processes and structures that can be used prior, during and after the meeting that prevent this from being such a daunting task so vague agenda’s, ambiguous agreements, interruptions and little control within a meeting can be all be thing of the past.

By knowing the agenda, the running order and items for discussion within the meeting you will be able to take notes in a calm manner and ensure all comments are recorded and full minutes are provided to all attendees in a timely manner shortly after the meeting so everyone knows what their agreed actions are.

Synergy will provide practical guidance on how to overcome the challenges faced by minute takers and learn how to write accurate and effective meeting minutes. In developing your personal toolkit of skills your confidence will be boosted so writing an accurate and detailed report becomes a natural and pleasant process for all involved.
